This is an original work not a print or a copy.

Leaping Nude with Silhouetted Balls is part of an ongoing series that highlights people often overlooked in traditional figure painting. I wanted to show how an older, silver-haired man can still embody strength, beauty, and sensuality—someone who’s athletic, confident, and expressive.

I worked in watercolor and crayon on Rives BFK paper, which has a thick, cotton surface that lets me build soft transitions of tone. The color is limited but layered, moving between warm skin tones and cool shadows. Those subtle shifts of color help describe the anatomy without over-defining it. I’m always looking for a balance between control and looseness—letting the brushwork stay visible so you can see how the image was built.

This figure feels almost sculptural to me. The focus is on light and volume, a kind of contemporary take on classical ideas about movement and the human form. I’m influenced by painters like Sargent and Diebenkorn, who could make a body feel alive through gesture and value rather than tight detail.

Every piece I send is carefully packed and insured. I use archival materials and strong packaging to make sure it arrives safely and ready to frame.
