This set is part of my Fresh Finds project—I'm going through my archives and offering original works from earlier in my career at a reduced price to get them out into the world. These four prints were made in 1994, during my last year of grad school at the University of Cincinnati. I was lucky to study printmaking with one of my favorite teachers, John Stewart, who taught me how to work with woodcuts, reduction printing, intaglio, aquatint, and etching.
Each piece in this bundle comes from that period and reflects what I was learning and experimenting with at the time. Rather than keep them in storage, I’m offering the full set of four original prints together for $175.
Avoidance is a two-color reduction woodcut based on a charcoal and wash drawing I did from a film still. It’s print 8 out of 8—the final one pulled from a limited edition.
Working Late is an intaglio and aquatint print. It’s number 5 from an edition of just 5.
Rear Window is another intaglio print, labeled as a second state proof. That means I revised the plate after the first round and pulled this to see how the changes looked.
The Paper is a black-and-white woodcut, 2 out of 3 from the first state. I later turned the same block into a multicolor reduction print (which you can find elsewhere in my shop).
These are all hand-pulled original prints, signed and dated, and in excellent condition. They’re not digital reproductions. Prints ship flat and unframed.
